The Zeb and Haniya (Zay-b and Ha-nee-ya) band is a project started by two musicians, Zebunnisa Bangash and Haniya Aslam. The band is primarily Lahore-based; however, Haniya’s hometown is Islamabad, and a lot of the work involved takes them to Karachi often. Though the music and sound of Zeb and Haniya is hard to confine to one genre, it has been described at various times as Alternative, Art Folk, Ethnic Blues, World Music and Easy Listening. January 21st, 2008 Zeb and Haniya featured in the Newsweek "For the Pashtun Love of Music". Check out the story in the press section February 10th, 2008 Zeb& Haniya sign a record deal with Fire Records. Release is scheduled for May 2008. Read about their deal in Dawn, Images. March 13th, 2008 Zeb & Haniya start shooting their first video. The video for Aitebar is being directed by the critically acclaimed director Saqib Malik.
